Children’s stories where shoes have a leading role

Today we bring you an interesting collection of children’s stories where shoes have a leading role that you can share with your kids.

Perhaps there is nothing more beautiful than telling a story to our sons and daughters at bed before they go to sleep.

Therefore, we have compiled a small selection of children’s stories in which footwear is the subject of exception.

Without a doubt, shoes have marked the personality of these children’s stories that we invite you to enjoy with your kids.

The Red Shoes

We are going to share it in a YouTube video format so you can view it.

Cinderella

This famous fairy tale has several versions, both oral and written, ancient and modern.

They come from various parts of the world, especially from the Eurasian continent.

Perhaps the most popular version in the West is that of the Frenchman Charles Perrault, version known as “Cinderella or The Little Crystal Shoe.”

Disney made in 1950 a version of Cinderella that resembles this version.

As we know, the crystal shoe that only fits the Prince’s future bride well is the transcendental element of the story.

Puss in boots

It is a European folk tale compiled in 1500 by Giovanni Francesco Straparola in his novel Pleasant Nights.

Also, we have a tale in 1697 by Charles Perrault in his book Tales of Mother Goose as The Master Cat and previously in 1634 by Giambattista Basile as Cagliuso.

Its leading role is an elegantly dressed cat wearing some characteristic boots, which gives the story the title.

The Wizard of Oz

In this well-known tale, the story of Dorothy and her red shoes stand out.

Dorothy Gale is a fictional character in the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written in 1900 by the American L. Frank Baum.

She is the leading role of the film The Wizard of Oz, from 1939.

Born in Washington, from a peasant family, she is a small orphan girl who lives in Kansas with her uncles and her dog.

With the arrival of a tornado, Dorothy and her house fly falling into the Land of Oz where they meet a good witch who gives her some shoes and instructions to return home.

During her adventure she makes friends with a tin man, a lion and a scarecrow, who go with her to ask the Wizard of Oz for different wishes.

Tom Thumb

Again, Charles Perrault grants us with a mythical character like Tom Thumb.

A small character (hence his name) but very clever who must manage different situations in order to return home.

His iconic boots symbolize intelligence, being the means by which he achieves his goal.
